Minikong

Summary in English. Spell checking runs on your device and your text is not sent anywhere by default. On Mac and Windows, where the accessibility API cannot read the focused field (terminals included; in browsers, only the hidden input boxes of web editors that draw their own text, such as Figma or Google Docs), Minikong rebuilds the typed text from key events (received through the Input Monitoring permission on a Mac and a keyboard hook on Windows), together with the current Korean/English input mode, in Minikong's memory only to check spelling on your device; it is never stored, logged or sent anywhere, nor used for AI features or shared snippets, and results are kept for at most five minutes. Keys are never read in password fields, the address bar, remote desktops, virtual machines, password managers, or banking and meeting apps, and keys sent by other programs are ignored. Text leaves your device only if you separately opt in (both are off by default; users under 14 cannot opt in): (1) sharing masked snippets to improve quality, stored without IP address or device identifiers and deleted after 24 months; (2) subscription AI features, where AI checks send text that has just been checked, polishing sends the text you press Polish for, and translation sends only text you have selected when you click Minikong or press Command+C (Mac) or Ctrl+C (Windows) twice quickly (selecting alone sends nothing); text is masked on your device and relayed through our server to Anthropic or OpenAI (United States) without being stored; we keep only counts, characters, tokens and cost. Payments are handled by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record; card numbers go to Paddle only, and we do not store the card or PayPal details that Paddle's payment notifications include, nor buyer email addresses. We keep subscription and device records (device model only, never the computer name): unused codes are kept until redeemed (gift codes do not expire), a subscription that has ended (expired, revoked or merged into another) is deleted with its devices 1 year after it ended, and an unlinked device 1 year after it was unlinked. We also keep AI usage records without text (deleted after 13 months), purchase claims (deleted after 7 days), gift purchase records (30 days), payment notification IDs (90 days, no message bodies), support messages (deleted 3 years after they are resolved; open ones are kept), admin logs (1 year), download counts (platform, time and whether the download came from the download page, an in-app update or the operator; the User-Agent and the operator's marker used to tell these apart are not stored; kept as anonymous statistics) and daily totals of website page visits and button clicks (no cookies or IP addresses; the browser's User-Agent and similar request headers are checked only to tell whether a person opened the page or pressed the button and are not stored, so we cannot tell who visited; deleted after 400 days). Service providers: Cloudflare (US company; database in the Asia-Pacific region; request logs up to 7 days), Paddle (payments; kept for the applicable limitation period), Anthropic or OpenAI (AI processing; Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, OpenAI keeps abuse-monitoring logs up to 30 days, longer for policy violations or legal requirements), GitHub (GitHub, Inc., United States: installers are downloaded directly from GitHub, both from the download page and for in-app updates, so GitHub may process your IP address and browser or app information under GitHub's privacy statement; checking data is relayed through our server). Deleted records remain in Cloudflare D1's point-in-time recovery (Time Travel) for up to 7 days. Public pages use no cookies; gift purchases use a confirmation cookie for up to 7 days, and browsers the operator has used to sign in to the admin pages keep a marker cookie for up to 400 days so the operator's own visits, clicks and downloads are left out of the statistics. You (or the legal guardian of a child under 14) can ask to access, correct or delete your data via kimyanghyeon12@gmail.com or the support form at /support. Privacy officer: 김양현 (an individual). Effective October 25, 2026.
